    I'm having a similar problem myself. I just got the Ubuntu 6.10 CD burned and at work it was blazing along great. Got it home on my Dell and ran into the same exact problem as above.

    I have an NVIDIA 5500 FX card, which I disabled and it didn't work. No matter if I'm using onboard or the card, I get the message:

    'Fatal server error: no screens found'

    ..PS.. This isn't the install. This is just booting off of the CD to test things out on my box.
