Which files go on my installation disc?
I'd like to first appologize in advance for these lame questions!
I have download Fedora Core 6 LiveCD ISO.
In the folder I see two files, 1.) the FC-6-1386-livecd-1.iso which is 699,160KB, and 2.) SHA1SUM which is 1KB. If I put them both onto the disk my CD-R won't be able to hold it (700MB) but I am worried that if I do not put it on, the thing won't work, as it was in the download folder. Undecided
Also the file "FC-6-i386-livecd-1.iso, does the "1" mean that there are several other discs??? Or when I boot from this one will it all load fine? And I can install linux of this live cd when I am satisfied it's for me?
Thanks!

hi jingboung,
Welcome to the LinuxForums.
burn LiveCD .iso file only and select 'Burn Image to DIsk' option in CD Burner. second file sha1sum is for verifing integrity of downloaded .iso file.
CasperIt is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Thanks for that!
I have a nero cd burner.
And i noticed it has the option to burn an image file, i do that instead of just burning a data file, correct?
I am still interested, will the livecd that I have downloaded install Fedora Core if I want it to? I heard it has a good partitioning utility called Gparted...
Thanks!

yes. GParted is one of the best Partition Manager. download its .iso image from here, burn it to CD and boot up from it to create/delete/resize partitions.I heard it has a good partitioning utility called Gparted...It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
