you should install WIndows XP before Linux Installation. i suggest to wipr harddisk, install WIndows and leave Free/Unpartitioned space for Linux. Installer will create and format partition itself.

Drean Linux Problem

Hi.
Ame thing happened to me..... Here's how i got out of it.
Download and burn partedmagic. You'll see the link on distro watch. Use TESTDISK... Let it hunt for the partitions that were lost. It will then re-write your MBR for you and you're back in business. (well i was anyway)..... Even supergrub did not help me but this did..
I think you'll be fine ...

Typo above. i meant same thing happened to me...
Anyway here''s the link for you

PartedMagic - Main - Parted Magic

fairly small, only about 37mb in all...

Once you've done shut down your system, then cold boot it back up....

Good luck
