    Mandrake 10 installed alongside XP but falls at the log in.

    Total beginner to Linux so use SIMPLE terms, please.

    I boot into Linux and get to put my username and password in then I get a few lines of:

    -bash: dircolours: command not found

    also: locale, tty, tty and head. All with 'command not found'.

    I also noticed on the boot up some of the commands reported 'failed'.

    The installation itself went off without a hitch. Or so I thought.

    anyone any ideas???
