os x/fedora dual boot with shared fat32 partition

Okay I am really stuck, and a newbie at this.

I have a macbook. I want to dual boot it with fedora core 6, and create a 2GB FAT32 partition to "share" between the 2 operating systems.

Using diskUtil resizeVolume, I created 2 partitions (disk0s3--20GB, disk0s4--2GB) from disk0s2 (the OS X volume). I have installed fedora core on disk0s3 and have it dual booting with rEFlt.

However, I cannot seem to do anything with disk0s4. In Parition Inspector, this is the info for disk0s4:

    Partition at LBA 147472424:
    Boot Code: None
    File System: Unknown
Listed in GPT as partition 4, type Basic Data
Listed in MBR as partition 4, type 0b FAT32 (CHS)
what do i do now to have this 2GB disk0s4 partition working? I do not intend to install windows on it, I just want to be able to mount it in OS X and fedora, so I do not have to burn cds to transfer files from one OS to the other.

(I managed to do this last night by somehow converting FAT32 from CHS to LDA (?) but then I was unable to boot fedora then.... I dont know maybe it's something to do with primary or extendable partitions ??? getting confused here.. .)

    thanks for any help provided!
