    Unhappy reinstall suse 10.1

    Hi,

As I understand it ??? I can't save any of my files on my HDD when I re-install Suse. I HAVE to back them up somewhere else ie: CD, DVD, USB Stick, Removeable HDD etc, Is that true, and if not, can someone point me to how to save the files on my currently working (sort of) HDD.

    Thanks

What happens when you try to save something on your hdd?

Are you trying to save to the same drive (and partition) as the one you installed suse on?

    Unhappy reinstall Suse 10.1

Nothing. It's just gone when I restart the fresh install. I'd like to reinstall but save my /home directory from being formated away during the process.
    Thanks

I installed OpenSuse 10.2 and that fixed it.
