Problems with installing SuSE 9.2 on Dell Dimension E520

I have recently purchased a Dell Dimension E520 and have tried to install just about every linux distro I have with no luck.

One distro I have tried which has been sucessful on most other PC's is SuSE 9.2 Professional - when I try this it boots to the dvd drive starts the installation program (loads the kernel etc) then is unable to locate the installation disk. It then goes into manual installation mode and gives various options to add drivers/modules.

I take it once it loads the kernel it then knows nothing about the dvd/cd drive?

I don't have a floppy drive and my question is how do I get this to work if it fails see/mount the cd/dvd drive.

Any help with this would be greatly received.

Kind regards
