I'm glad to see I'm not the only one still up tonight!

I found a web page (before reading your post) and tried changing it to
title Windows Vista
rootnoverify (hd0,1)
chainloader +1
makeactive
From what I gathered from the other thread, 'makeactive' is supposed to make the Vista partition the default (which is what I want). That didn't work.
BUT, Vista DID boot on the selection.
The thread also used "unhide (hd0,1)" instead of 'rootnoverify'.
Not sure what the difference is.
But, I FINALLY have both partitions working.
Now I'll never get to sleep...........
