Which kernel & what about Linuxant???
Hello -
I'm not new to LINUX but I've been out of the flow of it for a while. I'm preparing to migrate from Windows back to LINUX and I'm trying to decide which kernel to run... 2.4 or 2.6??
I read a bit about 2.6 right after it was released but none of it was real world... Now that some of the gurus out there have gotten to play with it... what is the concensus??
Also, I understand that Linuxant has had some issues with their Linux drivers and of course, I have a Conexant modem that MUST function. Are these drivers still available and functional? Last time I used them you could <cough> pay </cough> for them....
BTW, I'm going to be running Gentoo - LFS just seems rediculous

im on kernel 2.6.6 and it definitely seems on steroids. Easier to compile, lots of bug fixes, support for a lot more devices and quite a lot faster than 2.4.22 production kernel that i used.
I\'m just a simple fisherman blessed with a lot of friends
