    upgrade gnome

    Red hat 8

I am trying to upgrade gnome I believe that 2.2 is out now and I have a stack of rpms on CDROM from a linux magazine. However, they all have loads of dependencies which keep listing . So I try and install them one by one. There must be an easier way. Any ideas?

Also installed apt for RH. When running apt-get - terminal just does nothing. Any tips here. I though I could use it to upgrade gnome.

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers

when I used redhat, i recall using the rpm -Uvh *.rpm --nodeps --force to upgrade KDE. Maybe you should give that a try
