More information is needed , do you have a free space n your Disk , are you using parted to resize , do you have any other OS installed , what is the error you get when do try to save the allocating spaces ?

Well you see i have a 40 GB hard drive with no other OS but i have installed both Linux and Windows Before. Now i can only install windows. When i try to access the hard drive with linux it says "cannot read /dev/hda" is that enough info?
