Boot Multi Windows & Linux from hard drive with Windows Boot Manager
I am presently booting Win 98, Win XP, Linux Knoppix, Mepis & Xandros without problems from the windows Boot.ini file. All these programs are blisfully unaware of each other and there is no cross interference.
This took quite a while to achieve with the inevitable stuff up. However, once this was done and the dust settled it was quite easy. Actually there is no limit (within reason) to the number if Linux/Windows OS you can boot into.
I have detailed the procedure in a 2 page PDF file 36Kb.
Copy this link into your download manager:
I do this to further the noble advancement of Linux and say goodby to Bill.
Would appreciate any comments
To Clarify 4 U........... burnit
The boot loader is Bootpart which uses the Boot.ini
The advantage of this is: From there U can select which OS and/or Distro to boot into. Also alter the default boot.
Not everyone wishes to live only in a linux world. If U but a new car U don't have to dispose of the old one.
I didn't say uninstall Linux, I said uninstall a distro. Some people may wish to update a distro with a different/better distro. Try doing that without major drama if you have lilo or grub on your MBR.
Don't be one eyed! ............ give people a choice
