CD won't eject.
I can't eject the CD by pressing the eject button or by right clicking and pressing eject. When I click the details to find out why, it said umount: only root can unmount /dev/cdrom from /mnt/cdrom.
How do I get my cdrom(s) to eject without switching to root everytime.
what probably happened is that the cd was left in the drive or something when you booted or switched between root and user.
just go back to root, unmount the cd then eject it. then you should be able to go into user and things should be fine.
Heh... I was just fixing to post that I fixed it. I got into a terminal, changed to root and umounted.
And now that I think about it, I was root and then changed back to a user... good call.
or you could change the line in fstab to read "users" rather than "user" on the cdrom drive line. This allows all users to unmount, even if another user (non-root) mounted the drive.
