fdisk will be able to delete the partition, check the man page for details
Why cant fdisk find your drive ? Are you getting any error messages ?
That's right, the DOS fdisk command sucks really much. You simply won't be able to use that to delete your Linux partition. If anything, the XP partitioning program, whatever it's called, might be able to do the job.
I thought he was talking about using *nix fdisk :P
Surely dos fdisk would see it and it would just be 'unknown' ?
Anyway why dont you try disk administrator (2k,XP), that should be able to delete it.
try partition magic, it sees everything :D
Thanks for all the replies. I have tried partition magic, but my machine freezes eachtime I open it. If it isn't difficult enough to erase linux partion, then the drives are also SCSI to.
Can anyone please give me a procedure to follow. I want to delete the linux partition, and then create a windows partition. And then install Win2000. I have tried allot stuff. But nothing seems to work.
In the mean time I will try getting another program to run in DOS.
can't you use cfdisk? that one is pretty straightforward!
Why dont you just create the partition during the 2K install ?

Nope! Few things suck as much as DOS fdisk. It doesn't even display non-FAT partitions (not even NTFS!), but still complains about their existence when you try to add partitions there, or try and remove the extended partition on which they reside.Quote:
