Dynaloader problems on Mandrake Linux Install

Hello there!

I've installed Mandrake Linux 8.2 on my hard disk, together with Win98 (Partitioned).
Then, I ugrade to Mandrake Linux 9.0 and it was all working fine!
After a couple of months, I decided to format my whole HD, because I've had some problems with my Win98,

that I couldn't resolve.
So, I formatted my HD, installed Win98 on a partition of 15Gb and I left 4,5Gb space for Mandrake v 9.0.
Now, here's the problem; When I boot from the Cd, everything seems fine! But after the first stage install ("...Loading program into memory") and before the second stage, the screen goes blank and it prompts the following message:

"Dynaloader object version 1.04 does not match $Dynaloader: :VERSION 1.03999999889582 at

.........(Continues with the same error messages, but changes the last sentence, e.g line6, line7

etc).......
and then prompts the following:

"install exited abnormally :-(
sending termination signals.........done
sending kill signals.........done
/proc
/tmp/image
/tmp/stage2
you may now safely reboot your system"

I've tried begin the installation from a floppy disk, but nothing happened!
It was doing the same things over and over again!
I've also tried alt0, alt1, alt2 commands, but nothing happened!
Also a friend of mine gave me his Mandrake Linux v.9.0 Cd's and try install them in my machine,

but.....nothing happens!
Now, I know that I can install v8.2 first and then upgrade to v9.0, but I want a "clean" install.
What I must do, in order to get to the second stage install and continue the installation of Mandrake Linux 9.0?

It seems weird that perl would store version numbers in floating point format, but that version "1.03999999889582" clearly seems to indicate an error caused by floating point inaccuracy. It couldn't be that you're using this on a Pentium with the FDIV bug? Not that I think that it would divide version numbers with anything, but then again I wouldn't have thought that it would store version numbers as floating point numbers. None of it really makes sense. Are you sure that these CDs are flawless?

The Mandrake Linux 9.0 Cd`s, seem to be fine.
Is there any possibility, that the problem might be on the MBR??
Maybe something is "left" there from the previous installation....
....just guessing!...

There's certainly nothing in the MBR that could possibly affect anything in this way. Anyway, it was clearly not a FDIV bug.
I'm really not good enough with perl's internals to be able to answer this question. If genlee happens to see this thread, maybe he can contribute something from his great lore of perl?

So, what do U think I must do?

Am I Going to have the same problems, if I'll install a different distribution of Linux? (Red Hat, Debian etc) or should I try Mandrake Linux 9.1?

Please...I've had enough with Windows......

I was actually going to suggest that. RedHat doesn't even use Perl (it uses python instead, which I don't really like, but never mind that; it usually works). Try some different ones and see if any one works.
