Hi, i got this Realtek RTL8029(AS) ethernet card to connect to the internet,
linux autoselected this NE200 driver... (it doesn't work)
at the first session i used linux i could acces internet...
after that, it never worked, couldn't get the eth0 service not started or something... (at startup)
Could you post the output of the following commands (they must be run as root)?
Also, what distro are you using?Code:/sbin/ifconfig -a
lsmod
grep eth /etc/modules.conf
I have a similar card (RTL-8139) and I use the 8139too module. I didn't find anything for your specific model number but they might use the same module. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
Oh, and if that doesn't work, include the output of "/sbin/lspci" as well. I forgot about that in my last post.

There, input the Ethernet NIC(10M) product RTL8029, then select Drivers Only and click on the associated Go button.
Sorry, I just assumed that you knew. Start a terminal emulator (if you're using GNOME, then in the program menu under "system tools" you should find "terminal"). Run "su -" (without the quotes), which will ask you for a password. Enter the root password that you chose during the installation. Then run the commands, and copy their output into a new post (preferrably using "code" tags).

Your network card has indeed been detected and the driver is working as it should. However, the IP settings haven't been configured. How do you connect to your ISP?
