I was wondering if there is a small version of "AndLinux" that instead of being based off of Ubuntu, is based off of "Puppy Dog" or "Damn Small Linux". I have a friend that needs to use a native Linux application on Windows but can't because there are no ports. Also he only needs one application so it would be wasteful to be too big. It needs to IN Windows, not like a partition. If you know of anything please tell me. All replies are helpful.:arrow:
What application? If he can boot off USB. You can make a USB Bootable Linux version of Puppy or whatever. You can even make it persistent. There is no Wubi for any minimalistic distros that I know of.Quote:

The Cygwin environment provides a Linux-like environment (pretty thoroughly) for Windows. I have used it extensively in the past to run Linux applications on Windows, and to develop Linux applications there as well. Since I have migrated pretty completely to Linux now I don't use it much. Almost everything is there - gcc, X11, etc.
