Fedora on second drive
So if Vista is already installed on first drive, and I want to dual boot fedora linux on second drive, do I install GRUB on MBR or boot partition? Do I just select the option on the Fedora installation GUI, or do I need to copy the boot record to the first drive?
Also, do I need to change the switch on the second drive in regards to master/slave?
Hi and Welcome !
Best and safest way is, Unplug Vista Hard disk and plug-in other disk as Master, Install Fedora in it. Plug-in Vista disk as Secondary after Fedora Installation.
Add an entry of Vista in Fedora's GRUB for dual boot setup. Thats pretty easy. Boot up Fedora, login as root and open /boot/grub/grub.conf file.
Add this code at the end of file:
Save file and reboot machine.
