the flashplayer delima again

ok, I know this has been beat into the ground on these forums. I have been one of the people replying to the newbie questoins at one time...but i think firefox has some issue with flashplayer now. on my VERY old dell laptop ( running xunbuntu) I had problems getting FP to work, then it suddenly just started working, but now on my dell desktop, FP won't work install in graphics or terminal.also FP won't work on my brand new notebook running vista. it works in IE but not firefox. any one else have an opinion on this ? once i get Ubuntu working on the desktop, then i will trash vista on the notebook also.
