Grub XP problem
I have installed WinXP and Ubuntu on one drive. Both os boot fine on the computer that i installed them on, but when I move the hard disk to another computer, XP wont boot but Ubuntu does. I made sure that hda thingy much up on both computers.
When I try to boot XP i get a glimpse of a blue screen with some writing but it disapears before i can read it and then the computer restarts.
The grub boot commands for Xp:
The hard drive is 40g with the below partitions:
1 Windows XP ntfs 2.5g
2 Linux ext3 5g - grub is installed here too.
3 Swap swap 768mb
two more logical pars

what is the output in ubumtu to:
Enable Auto-Detect in bioas... allowed me to boot from the computer. Reinstalled windows, and put GRUB on MBR which is on the win par.
Works like a charm :)
You can't move a MS XP system to another computer. MS has implemented a lockout feature if hardware changes.
