How Can I Get Linux On This Computer?
Hi, I'm somewhat of a newbie to linux. I've been using xubuntu on my macbook for the past 4 or five months and I've done a few installs of ubuntu based systems. I've got an old laptop, Thinkpad 560e with 80mb RAM and a 2GB hard drive and I want to put linux on it. It has a floppy drive, but no CD drive and so far no CD drives have been recognized by it. I'm at a loss for how to proceed from here. I've heard of network installs, but I have a dynamic IP address and don't know if I can do that. Basically I'm entirely lost and any advice of how to get a system on this thing would be great. So far the only thing I know I can do would be to entirely install from floppy, meaning I would need hundreds of floppies...and it would be pretty impractical. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
