What kind of hardware do you have? As a rule of thumb if it has '64' after it, it's only right for a 64 bit chip. If it says something like x86 on the end, a standard 34 bit chip will be fine. Knowing which chip you have is a good starting point.
Unless you want to get into bug testing, you'll want to download the latest stable release of a package. Snapshots are probably not for you at this point.
Sunny.C, see this thread for more info: http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/per...a64-em64t.html
If you have a 32 bit processor, you can go with iX86 (replace X with 3,4,5 or 6).
Alpha, DEC, PPC etc are for different CPU architectures.
I want to try this one
http://ftp.iinet.net.au/linux/Gentoo/releases/x86/
Which files do i need??? all of them?
Download the Universal CD for x86. Note, this is gentoo you are downloading and not FC.
What's fc stand for???
Where can i get the 2006 pc version?
FC is Fedora Core. If you need to find the latest version of your chosen distribution, then take a look at Distrowatch.Quote:
