httpd (apache problems)
I've successfully installed apache to the point that typing the default localhost url brings up the default apache webpage on my linux computer. However the problem i now face is that no computer on my network can see the apache server.
My windows computers can ping the linux machine and vice versa, but just can't view apache.
Any ideas as to what i can do to remedy the problem? Incidently if it would make life easier i'm using centos 5 with gnome GUI on the top.
Can u check if there is any rules in iptables is present or not?
forgive me, i'm a complete noob at this, where is iptables located?
My assumption is that if i haven't heard of it before, i doubt there would be anything in there.
If you made your own index.html, then perhaps you should check the permissions.
In general I believe you want 644; it is important that "other", i.e. the people on a network are allowed to read the files.
