Install linux from a hard drive. (help needed)
I'm a novice ubuntu user. I've been using it for something like 2 years. I know my way around rather well. But I can't get the hang of making things bootable.
I am thinking about getting a dvd image and sticking it on a hard drive I have. (a 10GB) and booting my computer from that hard drive to install my OS of choice to my new 160 GB drive.
The Reason I want to do this Is because I don't have a DVD or CD burner, But as I mentioned i have a spare HDD. So I Have the image I want to use. but I have no idea how to format the drive to be bootable and to boot the image.
I would also appreciate some help configuring my settings to dual boot the new and current hdd's
Any useful tips? Step by step would be nice.
