Installing fedora 18 on V Box

hi All,

I'm having to test a couple things on multiple distros, I got ubuntu up and running fine in a virtual box inside of another linux distro but am having issues with Fedora 18.

I can boot fine in the live boot, the installer goes through fine but when I restart it's just back to the live boot (ie. it's ignoring the installed version on the virtual drive). Tried twice now and both times are the same.

Advice appreciated.

Eject the 'cd' from the virtual machine.

There is no cd, it was installed from a local iso

Select the VirtualBox installation you want to edit, in this case Fedora 18 then, select Settings > System. You will see Floppy, CDROM and Hard Disk. Move Hard Disk to the top of the list, so it is the first boot device.

Naturally. And that ISO is in the 'virtual cd rom drive'
As glennzo noted, CDROM is higher in the boot order than the virtual hard disk. So, I always suggest 'ejecting' the 'cd'.
