installing fedora along with windows xp

I want to install linux fedora on my pc...i entered the first cd in the drive and the computer didn't boot from the cd...i typed ctrl s and the boot setting were set to check the local drives then network drives...i shut down the computer then turned it on, it does not boot from the cd and after seconds windows xp starts...i have only one partition for my hard drive..please help i want to install fedora along with windows xp...

I am not sure what is happening with the CD there, I think in BIOS you have set Hard Drive to boot before the Cdrom.

About the partitions, I would suggest you use PartitionMagic to resize your Windows partition to have some room for Fedora.
