Installing Linux after both OSes on dual boot machine crashed
My computer came with Windows 7 and I installed ubuntu on it a while back. Windows 7 got a virus and I can't log in to fix it, nor can I access any restore points. ubuntu also crashed when I tried updating to the newest version and I can't log in. I've tried all of the options in recovery mode and nothing works; when I boot up in ubuntu the file systems won't be mounted.
Is there any way to install Linux again without losing my files in Windows and Linux, or at least not losing my files in my Windows partition?
