Installing Linux - AMD

How do i install Linux on a AMD PC. I keep on getting:

• Kubuntu - Disk Read Failure
• Ubuntu - Cannot Open Root Device <NULL>
• Ubuntu Server - Cannot Open Root Device <NULL>

All latest releases

Have tried different Drives and HDDS still no change
