Linux Installation Failed!!!
I am new to Linux and use Win XP Pro(SP2) on an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, E7200 processor. I had crashed my system 5 times this week while tryin to install Linux and its gettn to my head. I went thru some of the posts in this forum but none have worked. Right now, I have used partition magic 8 to make 10GB of Linux(ext3) and Linux Swap(512MB). So this is how my partition looks like:
I've tried installin several times using the "use free space" option but get the following error message:
Could not allocate requested partitions
Partitioning Failed: Could not allocate partitions as primary partitions
Not enough space left to create partition for /boot
The following errors occurred with your partitioning:
You have not defined a root partition (/), which is required for installation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server to continue
This can happen if there is not enough space on your hard drive(s) for the installation
Press 'Ok' to choose a different partitioning method.
I require that I use two operating systems in my machine. Is it required to install boot magic?
I hope you'll be able to help me out in this regard. Thanx.
