Well, ok lets say I think I screwed up..
I have been working on a Linux System for a Couple of days now so I dont want to Format everything and start over.
But I need to play $HOME in a Partition. I need to do this since I want to make Disk Quotas over Users.
And well I've heard that you need to give $HOME a own Partition for that.
Well, my Question is.
How can I put $HOME in its own Partition when the entire Drive has been Formatted without Losing Data?
How can I use DiskQuotas without having to reformat my entire System.
I know I failed Horrorbly and I screwed up big time. But well how to fix..?
Take a look at the Parted Magic LiveCD for your partitioning needs. It's a small download and quick burn to CD, and is quite easy to use. They have good documentation on their website.
You do not need to have a separate /home partition
to use quotas. If you cannot resize and create
the partition you want, just set quotas on the /
Its imposable to set Quotas on the / folder..

Well you can do this with Windows so Linux should be able to do this aswell. (Repartision I mean by that..)
I really hope it works else I can do everything over again!..
...Ill tell you later what happend.
Wish me luck..
Couple of Minutes later:
I tryed the CD and I figured out that I have LVM..
And Ive done some research on the inet..
And I think I am pretty sc(well you know)wd.. =(
I hope someone knows a easy way to work with LVMs??
Is there a way to 'unpack' them?
Well I first want to make a backup of the LVM before I screw things up.. I cant find software for that so is there any better way to do that then mount it in a LiveCD and mount a empty HD and cp all the files??
So, well I hope someone knows a easy way to resize LVMs??
Anywho, Please if you find something.. tell me..
I dont want to restart everything.. =( thats going to be working late..!

Already thanks for looking..
