probably this is impossible.....
I think windows automatically overwrites the bootloader
upon installation, without giving choice or warning to
the user.
I remember seeing a discussion of this behavior somwhere on
a forum. Although many of us see this as an example of
antisocial design, others defended it for its simplicity.
You install windows, it will always boot because it installs
its own bootloader, instead of asking the user a lot of
questions he may not understand.
Just read the forum and see how much confusion is generated
over the question of bootloaders. Bootloader problems come up
only when you install linux, because, trying to give you a full
range of choices, it takes the attitude that you are
responsible for configuring your system, even if you don't
know what you are up against 100% of the time.
What would you think of a "user friendly" linux distro that
automatically installed a default bootloader that virtually
guaranteed that linux would boot, while rendering any other
OS unbootable? Actually it would be kinda funny.:p
yes ! i agree ...
only Ubuntu Destop CD installs boot loader without giving any option or asking any question about it if windows is already installed, it sets dual boot without a hitch...

Jan it is Possible f you install on a secondary hard disk I found this out By accident.
Ive been using linux for a few years now And needed windows for a Part of my course in College and I went to install I have a BAckup drive on my System with NTFS. Windows just Formatted the NTFS partition leaving the MBR
