Problem installing redhat 9
Alright here i go >_>
For starters the system is this
500 mhz Celeron slot 1 (might be overclocked from 333, im not really sure)
128 mb ram
6.3 gb harddrive (no partitions)
broken floppy chipset
Alright i can boot the installer from the cd of redhat 9.0 of which i downloaded from linux. i get the install screen and i have tried to install using multiple settings the problems i get most commonly are as follow
"Uncomperssing linux... Ok, booting the kernel.
_" freezes with blinking cmd line
"Bad EIP value"
"Code: 8b 44 24 18 ff 08 ff 74 24 10 9d c7 47 14 01 00 00 00 89 18
<0>Kernel Panic: Attempted to kill the idle task!
In idle task - not syncing"
the later is probably the most common
I'm a bigtime noob to linux and have no idea what to do, from what ive seen on a few posts my best assumption is that there is something wrong with memory management or a kernel problem, i have tried combinations of the following commands, most of which led to one of the previous 3 errors
if anyone could help me i would be greatful
