Thank you very much rokytnji. Your examples have been very helpful. I've made some progress, and understand a little more about how to find some things, but I'm still not up and running yet.
I found the /boot/grub/menu.lst and made the change to root (hd0,0). However, I looked in the /etc directory for tstab, but couldn't find it.
My menu.lst now looks like this:
I'm loading this externally on a PC with numerous hard drives, so when I ran blkid I had quite a list. The Libretto's hard drive was listed as sdd1. I tried unmounting the other drives, but they still showed up in the list.Code:
# /boot/grub/menu.lst: GRUB boot loader configuration
#By default, boot the first entry.
#Boot automatically after 8 secs.
# Graphical splash image.
# Change the colors.
#color yellow/brown light-green/black
# For booting SliTaz from : /dev/sdd1
title SliTaz GNU/Linux (cooking) (Kernel vmlinuz-2.6.37-slitaz)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.37-slitaz root=/dev/sdd1 quiet
I also ran fdisk -l and there is no * under the Libretto's Boot column. You mentioned "gparted." Is that an application I need to run to change boot flags?
Thanks for your help thus far. I'm making progress, even if it is baby steps in the dark.
