sata driver problem
hello every body
I have a GA-P35SD4 gigabyte motherboard. This motherboard has n't any linux driver.
during linux installation a masage appears on monitor and asks about sata driver.
please help me.
it is useful if you know I was going to install Red Hat Enterprise 3.0 AS.
RH Enterprise 3.0 is pretty old at this point, most hardware problems would be alleviated in a newer version of it if you can use it. Are you attached to 3.0?
Welcome to the forums!
I agree with coopstah13, and recommend using a newer version of RHEL (version 3 is almost 5 years old), or perhaps use CentOS. It's basically RHEL, but with the logos stripped out, and no paid support channel. It's available for free download and has SATA support.
You are rigth, but I have a software, has install limitation and I can onlly install it on enterprise linux. thank you for your attention
In case you want to install RHEL 3 only then type linux all-generic-ide at boot: prompt. It works in most of machines.
I tried your method but I could not install this version yet.
I installed RHEL 5 but my software wasn't installwd on it.
