help
hi
im am currently trying to dual boot xp and ubuntu 6.10, with xp installed first.
i am not very good with computers and need help.
i have tried reading instructions but some of them prove to be very confusing.
so far i hav attempted to install ubuntu, but on the 5 / 6 step i got stuck. it says that i need a root file system.
i hav partition a swap, but i have difficulty with the other.
i used partition magic 8.0, where i selected ex 3 but i cannot find an option to change the mount point to "/" (root file system).
from what i have read i think this is what i have to do.
can someone help me.

Hi jamie_white,
Ubuntuhas one of the best partition manager, GParted. it in Menu. create Unpartitioned/Free space and select 'Free' space in Partition Section during installation. installer will create/format partitions for you.
in case it stucks again, open Terminal and execute this
post output here.

as suggested earlier, post the output of 'sudo fdisk -l' command.
