I have tried twice to install thunderbird with no luck. Checked the mozilla home page and a google search for install docs nothing. If anybody has any suggestions, sure would help.
pc is a compaq presario 1800 with Bonzai
also does anyone know of a hyperterminal style program
What distro are you using? Almost certainly your distro has packages for Thunderbird and other software; and you can install them with a package manager.
Its Bonzai a scaled down debian
have you tried #apt-get install thunderbird
if its debian based
is that the correct syntax for apt-get or should it be something different.
I am assuming that is a command run in the console or terminal
yes # apt-get install <package(s)> is running from the consol, try this
I will try as soon as I have a chance to reinstall it
apt-get install mozilla-thunderbird
mozilla-thunderbird is the package name for the Debian repositories.
