Trouble finding a Distribution
Hey everybody, I'm hoping somebody can help me because I can't find a Linux distro that has what I want.
I find a couple of Distro's but they are missing something I can't live without.
Here what I'm looking for:
- 64bit support
- I would prefer a rolling release like Arch
- Signed packages (why I won't use Arch)
- A large repo and a large community building 3rd part packages (like AUR or Ubuntu's ppa's)
- Codecs, flash, proprietary drivers ect. should be either:
a. Installed by defualt
b. In the repo
c. Good documentation on how to get them
Now here's were I run in to issues.
PcLinuxOS runs an outdated KDE and some outdated packages, and they do not support 64bit.
Gentoo is a real pain to set up and compiling takes forever.
Arch looks like a pain to set up and a bit scary like Gentoo, but I feel I can handle it. But the unsigned packages is a deal breaker.
Sabayon, almost much everything I want! Boot off the live usb and it doesn't detect my network card!
Anyone have any advice?
