Unable to install Fedora Core 5
I've been trying to install Linux in the past few days but haven't had much success. :(
I've got a Win XP Pro OS installed on my C drive and I have many other logical drives aswell, there are two partitions which are not formatted, I left those for Linux and the swap.
I've been reading many newbie articles for dual booting linux with windows xp but as I mentioned I haven't been able to.
When I power up my computer and I insert the DVD which contains the DVD image of Fedora 5, it loads and asks me if I want to install it. I press enter, it then asks me what language, keyboard layout. And then it asks me where I'm going to install it from, and I select "CD Rom" and it says that no drivers have been found for that device, please select your device from list or insert disk driver.
That is the bit where I get stuck, I'm pretty confused
My Combo Drive is an LG GSA-H22N
Also worth mentioning is that before I downloaded Fedora, I used Berry Linux Live CD but the strange thing is that it works on my dad's computer but it wasn't able to work on mine.
On my PC it booted Berry linux, but it displayed the following message:
<< Loading Modules >>
<< Mounting Berry System >>
Enabling DMA Acceleration for: hda
<< Mount Failed !! >>
And that's as far as it went. I got stuck there :???:
I would like to know if anyone can help me with the Fedora installation.
Thanking in advance,
