what means (hdx, y)--Y not booting XP
I have problem booting Win XP after installing Grub. When I logged in for the first time in Red Hat 8.0 it worked just fiine only for a few minutes (the partition of Win XP could be mounted). After these few minutes this hda1 partition and after a reboot I could not get into XP.
I found a lot of stuff here and i tried some but they didn't work. I tried to change (hd0,0) (here is my XP and on (hd0,2) is my Red Hat) to (hd0,1) and it showed me NTLDR missing. Even if I haven't tried it yet, I think loading from the repair of XP CD the NTLDR it could work.
I just want to ask what is x and y on (hdx, y) and what it could create this problem( because at a moment the mount command worked)
