Will not install.
I have a old compaq deskpro 2000 series
with about 220mhertz 256 ram 15 gig hard drive
but i ever distro i try to install it dosent work. any
suggestions on what to look at
ps the cd integrety allways comes up fine its just in stalling the

What happens when you try to install them?
Errors, system hang, black screen, etc?
Have you tried running any LiveCD distros to see if they work?

I have managed to install Linux on systems with less memory and hard disk space than you listed ;)... so you should be able to get a version to work.

If you are sure the installation disks themselves are good, it could be some hardware error.
Experiment (as suggested by Jonathan) with the various kernel boot options available to you through the F-keys right before the CD begins to boot. Different distros will have different options you can use.
