i7 cpu, quad core, dual hard drives, window 7 64bit on the first hard drive. Nothing on the second hard drive. I want to put fedora 64 bit on the second hard drive of my laptop and windows xp 32 on the second hard drive with the fedora.
Both hard drives are formatted in NTFS
1. Do I have to go through windows 7 when it is running or can I boot with the fedora dvd from the dvd player? I don' t know what microsoft and dell do with the new technology and license requirements etc.
2. I do believe I have to install windows xp first on the 2nd hd before fedoara?
3. Do I need to reformat the second hd with a third party gparted or does both fedora and windows xp format and repartition as needed? I did try to boot/load windows xp through the dvd but it stalled and the system said there is a problem at which point I had to restart windows 7.
