Problem compiling kernel 2.6.7 with Tulip Drivers support
I just installed Slackware10 after screwing around on debian and not liking it...
Currently I am trying to make my box function as a router... With the current kernal the system recognizes both eth cards....
eth0: Intel 21041
eth1: Macronix MX98715
Both are PCI
When I compile the 2.6.7 kernel using the .config from the original install kernel it works fine... But the system doesnt recognize the existance of the two eth cards... I have tryed compiling the 2.6.7 kernel with full Tulip drivers support but when I reboot I get a kernel panic during boot up... Right now im trying to compile the kernel with Tulip drivers built as modules... Anyone ever had any experience with these two cards? I could sure use some input.
Thanks.
P.s. I will eddit this post and add the status of the new kernel startup with Tulip drivers as modules...
Update: After I compiled the drivers as modules everything works Awsom!
