i m new in linux development. i would like to ask a question

I m trying to write a device driver for my linux based emb system which is running on MIPS cpu.

i want to create a node like /dev/led/ , so the when i write a '1' the LED which connected to the GPIO of the cpu will lights up,while '0' off.

do you guy knows how to write such a driver or reference information that may help??
