Regarding compiling kernel
I have been using Mandrake 10.0 version.I needed to recompile kernel.
I have followed the steps like making bzImage, make install...so on
and finally created the new kernel image. When the system is rebooted i
got an option like linux2.6.3 custom the compiled kernel, but I am unable to enter the linux. It seems there is something wrong with kernel.I am unable to boot even with the old kernel(2.6.3) the default kernel.I am not getting any error messages.how should linux be recovered on my laptop
Iam using a dual boot with windows xp being the other OS.I have not created any rescue disk.I tried to boot with the install cd and it did not work.My linux is on extended partition of windows.
Can anyone tell me how to boot with out reloading kernel??
