    2.6.7very slow on Debain/Sarge

    I was running Sarge with kernel 2.4.25 before, and 2.4 runs smooth, everything is fast. But with the new compiled kernel 2.6.7, the system respond very slow, no matter in console mode or X windows. When i switch the tabbed windows in mozilla, mozilla seems frozen for a while, it was not happen under kernel 2.4.

    My deiban/sarge is up to date, and i use gcc 3.3.4, kernel 2.6.7 source is downloaded from kernel.org, not the source come with debian/sarge.

    Hardware: Realtck 8139 NIC, Creative PCI 128D Soundcard, Athlon XP cpu

    Any suggestion?

    i had solved the problem.

    i install esound server, and 2.6 kernel get fast, very strange.
