How to add system call under 2.6.25.4?

Hi,
I download latest version of kernel - 2.6.25.4 .
Complied & configured & Installed it in Fedora 7
I looking to learn about adding a system call.

I read (somewhere) from 2.6.x, you need install patch in order to add a syscall?

Can you please provide me more details on this? any links ....
