    Error during kernel compilitation.

I am doing the similar kind of kernel compilation. I am trying to compile kernel on kernel 2.6.11.FC4.After doing all the steps I found that on mkinitrd -v /boot/initrd. it is giving permission denied while creating files in the /tmp directory

Any ideas/suggestions why is it so and how can I get around it,

    Thanks in advance,

Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.
    Any pointers, folks?
