Hi friendz,
When I am using Linux, suddenly it was hanged
. So I restarted it but It entered into grub mode(grub>) and unable to comeout from that. Is the kernel corrupted? If this is the case how can I retrieve the data before reinstall the kernel?

Something is wrong with Harddisk. Execute this at grub> prompt :
Post output here.Code:find /boot/grub/stage1
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Grub wasn't installed properly. Use your installation CD and open a terminal as root user and enter command: fdisk -l (lower case Letter L) and post output so we can see your partition information. Which distribution of Linux are you installing? Do you have other OS's on the machine?
Different possible problems. Could be a bad download, bad burn of the CD or Grub just not be installed properly.
