V4L2 LCD device drivers?
Hi,
I've seen several video capture V4L2 drivers in the mainline kernel...just trying to gain
some a grip on the arch between V4L2 and FB drivers..
I specifically have 2 qs:
1. Are there any V4L2 drivers for LCD panels?
Is there a tutorial/howto on writing them?
2. How exactly do V4L2 and FB (framebuffer) drivers fit together architecture-wise?
Or do they at all?
Is it the case that V4L2 drivers are (always/sometimes) layered above the fb driver? Any info
would help...
TIA,
kaiwan.

The v4l2 drivers are only for analog capture cards, and the tuner and audio chips found on some capture cards. If you want a driver for a LCD display panel (not a monitor), you need to find the driver based on the make of the LCD display.
I know nothing about framebuffers.Paul
