    kernel probs

Just been following a post on the dropline forums where it was mentioned that kernel 2.6.8.1 shouldn't be used as it's cd and dvd rw facilities are knackered.

Guess what kernel I compiled yesterday

Anyone shed any light on this?

Know what the latest current slack kernel is?

    Ta.

    That's where I got 2.6.8.1 from.

As reported it wouldn't let me burn with user permissions, needed root.

Compiled 2.6.7 and all is well.

Seems 2.6.9 has nvidia problems now.

I was at nvidia forum and there was a 'unoficial' patch for fix that it seems.
